Camp Aides

CAMP

We would like the camp aides to plan on being at camp by Wednesday evening.  We want to train them for their jobs and prepare them for work on Thursday.

TRANSPORTATION

If the aide needs a ride we MAY be able to work something out.  Please let Tara H. know.

UNIT LEADER REQUIREMENT

There is a requirement that each unit be assigned at least one registered adult that has references and a backgroud check completed.

Each unit will have 2 adults in the cabin.

If you are a registered adult and I do not have you listed as so on the current volunteer list please notify me ASAP so that I can adjust the list.

If you would like to become a registered adult you can find the required application as a word doc on the posting.  Complete this and mail it to the volunteer service specialist in your area or Kara Guillory in the Lake Charles office.

PIXIES & TADPOLES

WE ARE NOT TAKING PIXIES OR TADPOLES THIS YEAR DUE TO THE NEW CAMP LOCATION.

Volunteer Assingments

For everyone that is new to our camp, the parents that come to camp are the ones that work our camp.  This enables us to keep the cost down to $55 per girl and free for the parents.  For the most part every parent will get to spend one day with their camper and one day working a station.  We do place parents with their girl scouts for night cabins.  Please let me know if there are any issues with the schedule.  Thanks!

Day Unit Assignments

For the day units we keep troops together as much as possible.  We place daisies and brownies together and we place juniors and cadets together.  This is done because the little campers cannot do everything the big campers do, such as normal archery.  Please understand this is how we have done things since our camp began 4 years ago and it works out for the best.  Thanks!
