Leader Training

If you are interested in starting a new troop in Sonoma Valley, please contact Mary Allen (our Community Development Director) at the Santa Rosa Council Office to start your troop and begin your training.

You must first attend a welcome session with our Community Development Director where you'll receive your registration materials and many of the books and guides that are needed to complete your training.  Many of the required training courses are available as online e-courses.  At least one adult in attendance at your troop meeting will need to have completed the Core Leadership Series. It is encouraged to have several troop adults complete this series.

Discoveree:  Offered once a year, this is a wonderful opportunity to spend a day learning a variety of things not regularly offered.  Outdoor skills (including cooking, astronomy, orienteering, geocaching and more), songs, games, crafts, and a variety of other workshops are available during this full day training event.  Generally held in early February in Union City.  Watch your "Monday Mailing" e-newsletter for information on this great training opportunity.
