Girl Scouting is for every girl,everywhere—where today's girls can become tomorrow's leaders. Membership in GirlScouts is open to girls ages 5-17; women and men over 17 can join as adultmembers.
Most girls join a local troop or group for funand friendship, but they also find out about building character and self-esteemand serving their communities—the core qualities of Girl Scouting. In GirlScouts, girls find a safe place to grow and share new experiences, learn torelate to others, develop values, and contribute to society.
The Girl Scout program is based on the needsand interests of girls. All members:
- Share the Girl Scout Promise and Law
- Pay national dues of $12.00
- Follow safety guidelines
About the Girl Scout Program

Girl Scouts is the nation’s premierorganization serving all girls in Kindergarten through high school! Our programprovides you with opportunities to:
- Discover new things about yourself and your surroundings: Who are you today; who do you want to become?
- Connect to family, friends and your community: How have the people shaped who you are? How have you shaped them?
- Take Action to make the world a better place: How will you impact your community, your country, the world?
In a unique girl-only environment, Girl Scoutsbuild courage, confidence and character all while having fun. There are manyways a girl can participate in Girl Scouts – we have a program that’s just rightfor you!
Troop/GroupLeaders
Every Girl Scout Brownie belongs to a troop or groupguided by leaders who are taught by certified trainers. Leaders partner withgirls, giving them opportunities to make decisions about their activities and tolearn leadership skills within the group.
