With the launch of the new website, we will also be introducing a new online volunteer class, Girl Scouting 101, which will replace the current online Girl Scout orientation and Leadership Essentials. The new class was recently released by GSUSA and includes an introduction to Girl Scouts, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, and the national program portfolio, including the new Girls Guide to Girl Scouting.
All new volunteers will be asked to complete Girl Scouting 101 as part of their orientation process. It’s a great resource for anyone interested in learning more about Girl Scouts. I would like to ask that ALL leaders and co-leaders take the class. It will only take 45 minutes to complete.
The new class can be accessed here:

IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING THE KICK-OF
The Kick-Off that was cancelled because of Hurricane Irene has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 1 at Grassfield High School in Chesapeake. Everyone who was registered for the original event is automatically registered for the rescheduled event. If anyone needs to cancel their registration, please ask them to send an email message to Brenda (Brendan@gsccc.org).
We are working on expanding the capacities of some of the workshops so we can open registration again for additional attendees. Registration will open up Thursday, September 8 and remain open until we reach our maximum capacity. This information is going out in E-News on Thursday, September 1, and a message will be sent directly to everyone who was registered for the original date.
