About Troop 240

The focus of our Troop is to teach citizenship and leadership skills through community service, and responsibility in a fun, packed program!

Our program pushes the "outing" in "Scouting"! We are a high octane troop with a long history of hiking, backpacking, canoeing, and have recently expanded our offerings with the addition of a Rock Climbing program. We are also expanding our canoeing program with the purchase of several canoes.

We go on many fun outings annually. In the first couple months of the year, we go snow caving at Mt. Hood, and we also go to one of the BSA owned winter lodges for more snow fun! March is Patrol-outing month, so Patrols get to choose where they want to go. Additionally, in early May we go to Camporee near Jewell, which is a weekend campout for all the Troops in our District to compete in Scoutcraft, games, cooking, practice the Patrol Method and have fun. Summers with us are a packed, fufilling experience, with a variety of options such as a week-long Boy Scout Resident Camp, day hikes, small overnight back packing trips, and even one or two 50 miler one-week backpacking trips in August! In the Fall, we also go to Weblos Woods where we teach useful skills to Webelos that will help them on future campouts.

All in all, our program is packed but it is also a fun, exquisite experience that will fufill the adventure in you!
