Join Scouts


What we want to ask you is:

When was the last time you carried a backpack to go camping?

Have you ever slept in a snow igloo?

What is your best memory while hiking?

Where is your favorite place to watch the sunrise?

Boy Scouts is about building character, developing personal fitness, and learning leadership and citizenship. These goals are achieved in the outdoors. The adventure of hiking, camping, swimming, boating, high-adventure challenges, and touring is woven into the program.

What Boy Scouts wants to do, is get YOU out into the outdoors and experience life.

After all, What did YOU do this weekend?

What do I need to know?


 

Full knowledge of the following is not required the first day a boy joins Boy Scouts.  However we encourage this within one month.

  1. Repeat the Pledge of Allegiance.
  2. Demonstrate the Scout sign, salute, and handshake.
  3. Demonstrate tying the square knot (a joining knot).
  4. Understand and agree to live by the Scout Oath or Promise, Law, motto, and slogan, and the Outdoor Code.
  5. Describe the Scout badge.
  6. Complete the pamphlet exercises. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide.
  7. Turn in your Boy Scout application and health history form signed by your parent or guardian.

Fees/Dues

$10 + $12 optional Boys Life Subscription (official Boy Scout Magazine)

  1. Meet age requirements. Be a boy who is 11 years old, or one who has completed the fifth grade or earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, but is not yet 18 years old.
  2. Complete a Boy Scout application and health history signed by your parent or guardian.
