Typical Pack 298 Events
September – Raingutter Regatta/Recruitment & Popcorn Sales
The month starts with a recruiting event that includes building boats
to race in a raingutter. Also, in mid-September the Cub Scouts sell
popcorn to help raise funds for them and the pack.
– Halloween Pack Meeting
November – Potluck Thanksgiving Feast
A special pack meeting to where we have a Thanksgiving feast. During the feast we present awards and recognition are presented as well as a skit, song or other entertainment by each den.
December – Christmas Pack Meeting
After the normal pack meeting agenda, the boys participate in games and activities. One of these is generally a picture with Santa where he gives them a wrapped gift (their pinewood derby car).
January – Friends of Scouting (FOS) & Fun Activities
February – Blue & Gold Ceremony
Blue & Gold are the official boy scout colors. This event celebrates the anniversary of scouting. Generally, at the Blue & Gold ceremony, scouts will have earned their rank and are awarded it at this ceremony. It is also a time when our 5th grade Webelo IIs ‘bridge’ over to become boy scouts. It is a very touching and meaningful ceremony. We always celebrate with a feast and fanfare.
March – Pinewood Derby
This is where the boys (and anyone else) get to show off the derby car they made. We award for Best in Show and for Speed. We do NOT have a normal pack meeting during the pinewood derby.
April – Cub Master Surprise Pack Meeting
The Cub Master generally plans some fun events for the boys that follow typical pack meeting events.
May – Pack Graduation
This is where the boys officially move from one rank to the next. All awards and recognitions happen a little differently as the boys are prepared for their next rank.
During June, July and August we try to get the pack together once each month. Various events can be planned including cook-outs, camping, hiking, swimming, picnic, etc.
