The Lion program is a pilot program for the Boy Scouts of America. To join, a boy must be in kindergarten and be at least 5 years old by September 30th. This program serves as an introduction to Cub Scouts and prepares the boys for their next year as Tiger scouts. The Lions typically meet twice a month, once as the Lion den and once with the pack during the pack meeting.

The Lion den is led by the Lion Guide, who helps to schedule meetings and make sure the program is progressing. While the Lion Guide is technically the leader, the program also depends on involvement from adult partners who attend each meeting with a Lion scout.
