Webelos are the final steps in the Cub Scout experience. Webelos Scouts are still in Cub Scouting, however also plan some outings with the Boy Scouts to prepare for the transition. They take part in Cub Scout pack meetings, events, and outings. The Webelos den also makes its own plans to enjoy many activities too advanced for younger boys.
Webelos Scouts do not work toward achievements and electives as other boys in Cub Scouting. Webelos Scouts work on activity badges.
Webelos Scouts are encouraged to participate in activities that prepare them for becoming Boy Scouts.
Webelos I is for boys in the fourth grade and/or are 9-10 years old.
Webelos II is for boys in the fifth grade and/or are 10-11 years old.
The ultimate goal of a Webelos Scout is to earn the Arrow of Light badge, the highest award in Cub Scouting and the only patch from Cub Scouts that can be worn on the Boy Scout uniform, and to cross-over to a Boy Scout Troop.
