The pack committee must help by verifying the list of boys and adults registered in the pack. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eClown Volleyball%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eTo play Clown Volleyball%2c tie a string about 6 feet up off the ground to act as a net %28play the game outdoors if you can%29. Divide the den into two teams and give each team an inflated balloon. Ideally%2c a den consists of 6 to 8 boys who are all working toward the same rank. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eDen chief%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eA den chief is a Boy Scout%2c Varsity Scout%2c or Venturer who serves as an activities assistant%2c helping the den leader with the den and providing fun and interesting things for the boys to do. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eDen chief handbook%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eThe Den Chief Handbook contains the Floating Ball Trick and other tricks and stunts. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eDen Leader%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eA Cub Scout den leader is an adult volunteer who leads a Cub Scout den%2c with the help of assistant den leaders and parents. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eDen Meeting%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eIndividual Den Meetings are held for each rank level of Cub Scouts. These usually occur at a regular intervals%2c such as weekly or bi-weekly. Wolf and Bear dens work on fun projects%2c crafts%2c skits%2c or some of their Achievements. Webelos dens use this time to work on the various Activity Badges. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eDenner%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3e %3cul%3e %3cli%3e %3cp%3eThe Cub Scout denner is a den member elected by the den for a short period%2c usually one or two months. His responsibilities are determined by the den leader and den chief. This might include helping to set up the den meeting place and cleanup%3b helping with games%2c ceremonies%2c tricks%2c and puzzles%3b leading a song%3b or acting as den cheerleader. He should be given meaningful responsibilities and recognition to help him learn how to be a leader%2c so all boys will look forward to their turn as denner. %28The short term of office is to give all boys the opportunity to serve. The shoulder cord is worn on the left shoulder.%29%3c/p%3e %3c/li%3e %3cli%3e %3cp%3eThe Webelos Scout denner is a Webelos Scout who has been elected by secret ballot by the Webelos den for a short term of office%2c usually three to six months. His responsibilities are determined by the Webelos den leader and Webelos den chief%2c and might include such things as leading ceremonies%2c preparing equipment%2c setting up the meeting room%2c greeting new boys and helping them get acquainted%2c assisting with tricks and puzzles%2c or other worthwhile tasks.%3c/p%3e %3c/li%3e %3c/ul%3e %3c/dd%3e %3c/dl%3e %3cdl%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eDistrict%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eField Each Council is divided into a number of Districts. They can be as simple as a den trip to tour a local fast food restaurant or as big as a bus trip to a museum or sports event. If you are going outside your own town%2c you must file a tour permit with your local Boy Scouts of America council. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eFloating Ball Trick%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eTo do the Floating Ball Trick%2c hold a table tennis ball over the end of a soda straw%2c tip your head back%2c and blow hard. It lists all the required and optional parts of the meeting. You can choose the parts you want%2c determine their order%2c and indicate who will be responsible for preparing each. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3ePinewood Derby%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3ePinewood derby is an activity for all Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts. Boys build wooden race cars with adult assistance and race them down pinewood tracks for prizes and trophies. Other similar activities are the raingutter regatta %28boats%29 and space derby %28spaceships%29. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3ePow Wow%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eA Pow Wow is an annual Cub Scout Leader learning extravaganza sponsored by the council. Check with council for a schedule. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eprogram%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eThe annual pack program is planned to lay out the themes and activities that will be used for the upcoming year. A monthly theme is chosen%2c and most den and pack activities for the month relate to that theme. The purpose of Roundtable is to help units succeed by providing useful program ideas%2c information on policy%2c leadership training%2c and current information on upcoming Council events and training opportunities. Roundtables are the best way to find out what%27s going on%21 %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3ca name%3d%22s%22%3e%3c/a%3e%3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3ca name%3d%22Sponsor%22%3e%3cstrong%3eSponsor%3c/strong%3e%3c/a%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eEach Unit must have a sponsoring organization%2c such as a church%2c service club%2c etc. Pack 339 is sponsored by Chandler Baptist Church. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eScout Sign%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eThe Scout sign is used when Webelos Scouts say the Scout Oath or Promise and Scout Law. To make the sign%2c raise the right hand palm forward%2c upper arm straight%2c and out to the side. The arm is bent at the elbow%2c forming a right angle. The three middle fingers are held erect and the thumb covers the nail of the little finger. %3c/dd%3e %3cdt%3e%3cbr /%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdt%3e%3cstrong%3eService projects%3c/strong%3e %3c/dt%3e %3cdd%3eService projects are part of Cub Scouting%27s citizenship training. The red felt vests give the cubs a good place to show off their patch collection. Webelos Scouts use the %22colors%22 for activity pins.
