Public Join Scouts! - Cub Scout Pack 71 (Fayetteville, Georgia)

Most new scouts join our Pack at the beginning of the school year when the Fayette District visits the local schools for Scouting Night. Fliers are distributed at the school before that night, inviting interested families to come. Many, but not all, of the boys in our Pack come from Hood Avenue Elementary. All new scouts are required to complete an application. Pack 71 charges dues, currently $100 per year. We have chosen not to sell popcorn as many packs do, feeling that too much of our program felt like fund-raising. We do give the boys the chance (purely optional) to sell "Camp Cards" (discount cards to local stores and restaurants) in the spring, of which they get to keep 50% of the sales to offset the cost of summer camp and other scouting costs.
