What Is Cub Scouting?

If you are a boy in first grade through fifth grade—or you're 6 to 10 years old—then Cub Scouting is for you. It's for your family, too. This is the first and the largest of the three Scouting programs (Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, and Venturing) from the Boy Scouts of America.

The Cub Scout Pack is chartered by a church, school, or community or neighborhood organization. This group makes sure your Pack has good adult leaders, a place to meet, and exciting things to do. The group gets help from the Boy Scouts of America, which is part of Scouting around the world.
Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack.
Benefits of Scouting
Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.
Pack 305 is chartered by Richardsville United Methodist Church.
Meetings are held on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm - 8:00pm in the basement of the Church.
The cost of membership from Aug 2012 thru to Feb 2013 will be $35.
Includes: 1 years membership, Insurance, Handbook and Rank Awards
However, you may join at anytime and the amount will be pro-rated.
