WELCOME

Hello and Welcome to Troop 117, Bucks County Council BSA. We are celebrating our 45th year and encourage any interested youth to come by any Tuesday night for a troop visit to see our program in action. Meetings are every Tuesday night throughout the year from 7:00-9:00 PM. We meet at Resurrection Lutheran Church on Bristol Oxford Valley Rd. Currently we have 15 Scouts and an active Troop Commitee. Our program focuses on Scout Skills, Community Service, and Fun. We provide a program that encourages advancement but allows Scouts to advance at their own pace. While we encourage the Scouts to be as active as possible we are aware that there are many other activities from school and athletics that the members of the troop participate in and a Scout is never penalized for missing a meeting or event due to scheduling conflicts with other activities.  Troop 117 is an all inclusive group and has a Zero Tolerance policy with regard to bullying or hazing. Scouting is a safe zone where mutual respect, tolerance and understanding are attitudes that are grown and encouraged.

                                                WHAT WE DO

1--Monthly camping trips where the Scouts learn skills, teamwork, self reliance. Trips are usually Friday night to Sunday morning and can range from backpacking to cabin camping.

2--Weekly Meetings. The trrop meets year round and is "Boy Led" with adult guidance. Meetings usually cover skills learning, games, and merit badge work.

3--Community Service. We have an annual food drive. This year we worked with Cub Scout Pack 110 and collected 2300 pounds of food to contribute to Langhorne Food Pantry. We also do  a twice yearly cleanup of Magnolia Lake removing garbage and litter making the lake area a more usable friendly area. Along with this we help out at Pack 110s annual holliday caroling at local senior centers, local highway cleanups and various other projects.

4--Annual Summer Camp-Every Summer the troop attends a Summer Camp for a week of fun while working merit badges and making friends.

This is just an overview of some of what we do. If any of this sounds interesting please stop by any Tuesday night betwen 7-9PM to see our program in action and see if you fel the troop is a good fit for you, we think you will find it is.
