Troop 42 is a part of the Daniel Boone Council; SoQua District of Western North Carolina.
The goal of our Troop is to offer the best program for our young men.
We are a Boy-Led Troop in our activities and outings.
Every opportunity is available to our boys to become leaders of our Troop as well as our Community. State and Country.
Our biggest goal for our young men is to reach the rank of Eagle Scout before they are able to become licensed drivers.
We are blessed to live in one of the most beautiful parts of North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Our charter organization is St. James Episcopal Church in Black Mountain, NC only a few miles as the crow fly's from the highest mountain East of the Mississippi river, Mount Mitchell.
We have thousands of miles of hiking trails, rivers and wilderness to be explored.
Our favorite destination for camping and hiking is the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
If you are looking for fun, fellowship and the challenge of leadership and a place to belong come and grow with us.
Meetings are Thursday evening from 6:30-7:45 at the St. James Episcopal Church, 424 West State Street in Black Mountain NC.
We are always looking for a few good men!
So much can be said of a Troop of Boys but this sums it up very well:
