BSA Troop 401 - Redford, MI

History:

Troop 401 is chartered by St. James Presbyterian Church – Redford Township, MI.  The troop has been active for 64 years and has produced dozens of Eagle Scouts.  We currently have 25 boys registered.  There are three patrols – Eagles Wolves and Bears.  In addition, there are many adults actively involved with the troop.

 Meetings:

Troop meetings are held at 7:30pm on Monday nights, from September to June, at St. James Presbyterian Church, 25350 W. Six Mile Road, Redford Twp. MI 48240  (next to the new Redford Library).

Outdoor Activities:

Monthly outdoor activities include weekend campouts, canoe trips, and hikes.  The troop attends Summer Camp (1 week) every July.  Summer Camp is a great experience for all who attend and a great opportunity to learn and earn merit badges.  Last year at summer camp, the boys earned a total of 68 merit badges.

Service:

Troop 401 participates in many service projects throughout the year – providing adequate opportunity for Scouts to fulfill the service hours required for the various ranks.  These projects include the annual Rouge Rescue, Scouting For Food, and the St. Andrew’s Day festivities at St. James Church.
