THE PURPOSE OF CUB SCOUTING
Cub Scouting is a year-round family oriented part of the BSA program designed for boys who are in first through fifth grades (or ages 7-10). Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the 10 purposes of Cub Scouting:
1. Character Development
2. Spiritual Growth
3. Good Citizenship
4. Sportsmanship and Fitness
5. Family Understanding
6. Respectful Relationships
7. Personal Achievement
8. Friendly Service
9. Fun and Adventure
10. Preparation for Boy Scouts
Being a Cub Scout is an honor. It teaches children so many important things. The boys do lots of outdoor activities and they learn many things. They will go on a lot of adventures that are fun and educational. They will learn to work for their achievements and be proud of themselves when they earn badges/belt loops and get special recognition for these achievements. It is a great way to bond with your child too because you are doing these things with them.
If you are interested in getting more information or would like to sign your child up to be a Cub Scout, then please contact Eric Ohlson, Cub Scout Pack 316 Cub Master.

You are also welcome to join us at our pack meetings. Pack meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month in the Dunlap Grade School Cafeteria. Parking is provided at the rear of the school. We look forward to meeting you very soon!
