Allenwood Elementary, Cubscout Pack 82, Wall, NJ

Welcome to the webpage of Allenwood Elementary School Cubscout Pack 82 in Wall, NJ.  We hope that you are considering having your son enroll in Cubscouts.  Any boy in grades K-5 can participate.  In fact, even if your son is going to start Kindergarten next year he can sign up for scouts in the late Spring the year before.  We usually have an enrollment meeting in May to sign up new scouts.  Even though May is when our scouting year is coming to an end in preparation for Summer vacation, we always have a camp out and BBQ in June.  Any child that signs up in May is welcome to join us at the June camp out.  Sometimes we will have activities through the Summer as well.
The other sign up month is usually in September.  However, your son can enroll at any time during the year, and we will prorate the membership fee for the remainder of the year.

Here are examples of some of the activities we do through the year:
-Food Drive for a local food pantry
-Overnight indoor camping trip each year to a location of our choosing (e.g.: Battleship NJ, Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia Zoo, Camden Aquarium, Blue Claws baseball field, Liberty Science Center, etc.)
-Overnight outdoor camping night each year in June, usually at YMCA Camp Zehnder in South Wall.
-Beach Clean Up day once a year.
-Go-see-um's (field trips) at interesting locations on a monthly basis with your den (examples: firehouse, police station, local businesses, local parks, etc).
-each DEN is made up of kids of the same grade and meets 1-2 times per month; our PACK is made up of all the dens, and meets once a month during the school year.
-Cubmaster's reading challenge.  The kids are challenged to read as many books as they can, and are given a awards based on the amount of reading they did.
-Popcorn fund raiser.  The boys sell popcorn to help raise money for our Pack, and they also are able to earn prizes of their own to keep.
-MOST POPULAR: The PINEWOOD DERBY - scouts and their Dad's have fun making a Pinewood Derby car to then race at our yearly race night.  If you place in the top 3 in your den you then can race at the District level if you wish, and take on other scouts from all around our area.

We focus on building our young boys into caring and responsible young men as they grow into their pre-teen years.  Scouting gives them an opportunity to socialize in a safe and positive environment.  We work toward giving them an opportunity to learn about civic responsibility, respect for other people, and appreciation and respect for nature.  But most importantly we want them to have FUN.
