Welcome!

Welcome to the home page of Cub Scout Pack 195!  Each Cub Scout pack has a charter organization that helps to support them in their programs, organization, opportunities for the boys, and provide a safe meeting place.  Our charter organization is St. Joseph Church, Simpson Street in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. We are a part of the New Birth of Freedom Council in Pennsylvania. Our council has 5 different districts and ours is the Pioneer district.

Cub Scouting is home and neighborhood centered and is designed to support family life. Our pack's program helps to meet your Cub Scout's growth needs such as learning new physical skills, gaining a sense of worthiness and acceptance by his peers, learning to get along with and form friendships with other boys the same age. He will learn how to move from a preoccupation with self to understanding how and what others think of him. His same age buddies become important to him. He will develop his mental processes by engaging in hands on activities and field trips.

Our pack offers all of these things and many more. Through cooperation with other boys, being taught, adult examples, and positive reinforcement your scout begins to develop a sense of what is right and wrong and what is fair and unfair. He will then be able to learn and develop personal independence.

Your Scout starts out as a Tiger in 1st grade. This is an exciting time for the boys. They get to learn new things and start to develop new friendships and a sense of belonging. By the end of 1st grade, he will progress into a Wolf Scout. Then when your Scout moves into the 3rd grade, he will work himself into a Bear Scout. As his 3rd grade year is coming to a close he will start to work towards becoming a 1st year Webelos Scout. The final level for a Cub Scout before progressing on to Boy Scouts is a 2nd year Webelos in the 5th grade.

Our program runs throughout the year! Each den has their own schedule of times and days to meet. The boys and their parents are encouraged to attend den meetings to learn and grow together. We do not hold regular den meetings during the Summer, but we do have planned Summer activities for your Scout to attend. These have included ice cream socials, Senators baseball games, hiking, camping, picnics, and much, much more. Each boy who attends three or more of the Summer activities will receive a Summer activity pin to wear on his uniform.

We have a very strong group of people who lead and support all of the boys in our Pack. All of the volunteers have the opportunity to attend training seminars to receive more specific direction in leadership and dealing with the boys on all levels. All of the parents are welcome to attend the committee meetings and the den meetings to support the boys as well as the Pack. Due to the difference in schedules, the best way to get any information about how to help the most is to attend our committee meetings, or call your Scout's den leader, and they will be happy to help in any way possible.
