TROOP INFORMATION

Boy Scout Troop 9168 takes great pride in being a” Boy Led Troop.” Our focus is centered on challenging the scouts to lead themselves with an active “Patrol Leaders Council." Adults are encouraged to take a supporting role within our active "Troop Committee." Scouters (trained adults) act as guides to ensure the journey through the boy scout program for each young man is a successful one.

Troop 9168 implements outdoor activities where inexperienced boys can also evolve into veteran outdoorsmen. Our outdoor program creates concerned custodians of the environment while teaching basic survival skills at the same time.

In addition, Troop 9168, participates in a wide variety of charitable events. Our Community Service Program gives the scouts a chance to give back to the community with the true spirit of volunteerism.

Troop 9168 gives each scout a chance to earn money with many fundraising opportunities as well. Our Fundraising Program offers many events throughout the year to add to each Troop Family Account for scouting expenses.

We welcome any boy in grades 6th - 12th (ages 11-18) and their parents to join us for our troop meetings held most Monday evenings starting at 7:00pm at the VFW Post 9168 (997 East State Highway Business 121) in Lewisville, TX. Our PLC/Cabinet meetings are usually held on the fourth Monday (after a camp out event) at Huffines MS (1440 N. Valley Parkway) in Lewisville, TX).

Because we believe in keeping the family close as the boys move through this pivotal time in their lives, we openly encourage parents to join us for all troop events and campouts.
