Troop History
Boy Scout Troop 6
was first chartered in the year 1916. Initially organized by Pastor
Worden, the troop has been active for over 95 years. Early members
include Kenneth Noyes and his brother, previous longtime members of
the Jonesville United Methodist Church and one time owners of the
Jonesville Country Store.
Troop 6 takes
their place among several excellent troops in the Saratoga District
of Twin Rivers Council. Each troop has its own character, strengths,
and design. Troop 6 is an active, strong group encouraging mutual
respect and good citizenship. We have scouts who have come from
nearly all of the local Cub Scout packs as well as scouts that are
new to the Clifton Park area, transfers from other troops, and boys
new to scouting. We have a nicely balanced group of over 40 boys of
all ranks within the BSA program. From 1961 to present, Troop 6 has
had approximately 70 Eagle Scouts.
We are privileged
to have the Jonesville United Methodist Church as our charter
organization.
