In Cub Scouts, your son will have lots of fun, learn many new things, and develop good friendships.
But, Cub Scouts is so much more than that! It is fun with a purpose! Everything he does in Cub Scouts -
making crafts, participating in ceremonies, playing games and sports, earning awards, going camping, learning new skills -
will be done with a purpose in mind. Specifically, the goals of Boy Scouts of America when incorporated in 1910 were to provide an educational program for boys and young adults, build desirable qualities of character, train responsible citizens, and develop personal fitness
Cub Scouting has Ten Purposes:
- Character Development
- Respectful Relationships
- Good Citizenship
- Spiritual Growth
- Personal Achievement
- Friendly Service
- Sportsmanship & Fitness
- Family Understanding
- Fun and Adventure
- Preparation for Boy Scouts
The Cub Scouts of America colors are blue and gold. They have special meaning, which help boys see beyond the fun of Cub Scouting to its ultimate goals.
The blue stands for truth and spirituality, steadfast loyalty and the sky above.
The gold stands for warm sunlight, good cheer and happiness.
