Welcome to Troop 413!

Since 1975, Troop 413, based out of the Northwood Presbyterian Church in Clearwater, Florida has been serving the youth of the greater Countryside area. Since 1994, 56 scouts have obtained the rank of Eagle Scout, which is the highest achievement in scouting. The troop prides itself on the scouts leading a boy-run troop. Last year, 60% of the scouts advanced in their rank. The success of our young men is attributed to a strong outdoor program, leadership opportunities, and troop support. We participate in many service projects throughout the year as we support our local communities. The troop goes camping all over the State and has traveled to summer camps in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia to attend out of state summer camps.

During the summer of 2016, 18 scouts and 7 adult leaders traveled to Camp Powhatan in Hiwassee, VA. This June, 26 scouts and 8 adults traveled to Camp Woodruff in Blairsville, GA., and while they were greeted with a few rain soaked days, it certainly didn’t dampen their spirits as they had an unforgettable time. Our second trip this summer was taken internationally, where seven scouts and five adult leaders flew to a “Florida National High Adventure Sea Base” site, located in Abaco, Bahamas. The scouts spent a week aboard a 50’ sailing vessel learning how to sail, cook, stand watch, swab the decks, snorkel along reefs, bike and enjoy the local towns in Abaco, Bahamas.

Many of our older scouts also plan special High-Adventure trips into the Appalachian Mountains, as well as other exciting places around the State of Florida and the country.

If you find all of this exciting, then be sure to contact us and visit a troop meeting on any Thursday evening at 7:00PM. Our Scoutmaster, Mr. Kirk Holder, is always looking for new Scouts to join in the fun and tradition that has made Troop 413 one of the top troops in the District.
