Welcome to Troop 413!

Since 1975, Troop 413, based out of the Northwood Presbyterian Church in Clearwater, Florida has been serving the youth of the greater Countryside area. Since 1986, 88 scouts have obtained the rank of Eagle Scout which is the highest achievement in scouting. The troop prides itself on the scouts leading a boy-run troop. Last year, 60% of the scouts advanced in their rank. The success of our young men is attributed to a strong outdoor program, leadership opportunities, and troop support. We participate in many service projects throughout the year helping out our local communities. We go camping all over the State. Generally scouts may attend 2 different summer camps. Often an in-state and out-of-state camp are chosen by the scouts. Typically they visit Georgia, North Carolina or Tennessee. During the summer of 2016, scouts traveled to Hiwassee, VA to attend Camp Powhatan and the “Mountain Man” program and additional scouts traveled to Camp Le-No-Che in central Florida. Many of our older scouts also planning high-adventure trips into the Appalachian Mountains as well as other exciting places around the state, country and now, internationally. In early June, 27 scouts and 7 adults will be travellng to Camp Woodruff in Blairsville, GA. In late June, another 7 scouts and 5 adults will be spending a week aboard a sailing vessel in the Abaco Islands, Bahamas. If you find all of this exciting, then be sure to contact us and schedule a time to visit a troop meeting. We meet Thursday nights at 7pm. Our Scoutmaster, Mr. Dave Hamilton, is always looking for new Scouts to join in the fun, traditions and new experiences at Troop 413.
