Girl Scout Silver Award Steps

Below is an overview of the requirements to earn the Girl Scout Silver Award. In order to fully understand what councils expect from girls, please refer to the Silver Award girl guidelines, the Silver Award Adult guide, and the FAQs. For further information, please contact your local Girl Scout council.

Girl Scout Silver Award Pre-Requisites

Girls must be in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade (or equivalent) and a registered Girl Scout Cadette
AND
Complete a Cadette Journey

Girl Scout Silver Award Steps

  • 1Identify issues you care about.
  • 2Build your Girl Scout Silver Award team or decide to go solo.
  • 3Explore your community.
  • 4Pick your Silver Award project. The Silver Award project must be done in the local community (beyond the Girl Scout community).
  • 5Develop your project.
  • 6Make a plan and put it into motion.
  • 7Reflect, share your story, and celebrate.
