The Cub Scout program has an organizational structure that puts boys into groups called Dens with a recommended size of 6 to 8 scouts. Dens of boys in a community form a Pack which is part of a District. Districts combine to make a Council.
The Bobcat rank is the first rank earned by a Cub Scout, regardless of which grade he is in when starting Scout. After earning the Bobcat rank, he then begins earning the rank of his grade.
