                                           Boy-Led Troop Leadership

Senior Patrol Leader
(SPL)

Elected by Scouts in Troop

Election results must be approved by the Scoutmaster

May be reelected for only two consecutive terms.

Served as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and/or Patrol Leader for at least six months.

Rank of First Class or above.

Not a member of a patrol.

Runs all Troop meetings, events, and activities.

Presides at all Patrol Leader Council (PLC) meetings.

Reports to and is directed by the Scoutmaster.

Wears Scout Uniform correctly.

Sets good example and shows Scout spirit.


 Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL)

Appointed by the Senior Patrol Leader.

Must be approved by the Scoutmaster.

Served as Patrol Leader for at least six months.

Rank of Second Class or above.

Not a member of a patrol.

Boy Leader second in command of the Troop.

Acts as SPL in SPL’s absence.

Assists SPL in conducting meetings.

Member of the PLC

Trains and Supervises the Troop Scribe, Quartermaster, Librarian, Chaplain Aide, Historian, Instructor, Bugler, Webmaster, Leave No Trace trainer, and OA troop representative.

Wears Scout uniform correctly

Sets good example and shows Scout spirit

 

 

 

                            Boy-Led Leadership Continued

 Patrol Leader(PL)

Elected by members of the patrol.  

Must be approved by the Scoutmaster.  

Second Class rank or above.

May appoint an Assistant Patrol Leader (does not qualify as a leadership position for rank advancement).

  
Scribe

Appointed by the Scoutmaster, with input from the Senior Patrol Leader.

Keep a written log of attendance at every Troop meeting, noting activities of the meeting.

Arrange, organize, and take minutes at every PLC meeting.  

Keep an updated list of Patrols and their members.  

Assist Webmaster in keeping the Troop Website updated.  

Collects dues and turns them over to the Treasurer.
 

               Quartermaster

Appointed by the Scoutmaster, with input from the Senior Patrol Leader.

Work with the Equipment Coordinator in keeping Troop equipment stored and in good repair.  

Distribute Troop equipment for activities as needed.
