Every Cub Scout and Parent should know the "Law of the Pack".

   The Cub Scout follows Akela.
The Cub Scout helps the Pack go.
The Pack helps the Cub Scout grow.
   The Cub Scout gives goodwill.

"The Cub Scout follows Akela."

Who is Akela?  YOU are Akela, if you are a parent or provide care to a Cub Scout.  Your Son is following Akela.

Kids learn to live by watching how you (Akela) live.  If you want your Son to grow into an adult that contributes to their world, it's simple. Live your life as a contributing adult, and share that life with them.

One great way to show your son how to live and give is to spend time with them through Cub Scouting, and fill one of the available service positions.  Remember -- Every Pack and Den activity only happens because a Parent helped make it happen. There are no paid positions in the Pack.  The annual dues simply cover the cost of the Pack's activites. Most of are volunteer needs require very little time, and the Pack leadership can give you guidance on every step.

Click here to see which service positions are open, and how little time most of them actually require.

"The Cub Scout helps the pack go."

The Scout helps the pack go by participating as a good member.  The Scout shows for meetings and shows up on time.   During our activities, they follow the Cub Scout Motto, "Do your best".   They share their experience with their family and friends.   These are some of the important ways the Scout helps the Pack go.

"The pack helps the Cub Scout grow."

The number of ways Scouting helps your son grow are too many ways to count.  For a start, consider the achievements of these Eagle Scouts (who progressed through the program to its highest position).  Many of these famous Americans credit Scouting for helping them build their character and inspiring them to achieve.

"The Cub Scout gives goodwill."

Through Scouting, your son will participate in a number of service projects that help our community. Two of the most well-known are "Scouting for Food" and "Salvation Army Bell-Ringing".   Through Scouting for Food, your Scout helps put food on the tables of those who can't afford to.  Every year during the winter holidays, Cub Scouts help raise money for the Salvation Army and their good works in the community.  Why don't you show your son that you believe in the value of community service, while spending quality time with him, by joining the others who help keep our pack going.
