About Us

Troop 891 is a very active Boy Scout troop. There is a camping or outdoor activity scheduled for just about every month of the year. We camp at local sites like Camp Guyasuta (across the Highland Park Bridge), Clear Creek State Park, Cook Forest, Twin Echo, Heritage Reservation and a few more. Our activities also include winter sports like snow tubing and summer activities like First Aid competition meets.

Troop 891 has been a program offering the benefits of scouting to boys of the Penn Hills community for over 60 years. Many of the men and boys that have been a part of Troop 891 have completed service projects, Order of the Arrow initiations, and have achieved Eagle Scout Rank. The boys of Troop 891 are encouraged to help each other grow in scouting, community, and society.

Most of the boys in the troop are active in other programs like school extra-curricular activities, and community events and programs. Many of the boys are in school and community sponsored sports programs, Jr. ROTC, marching band, theatre, etc...

The parents of troop 891 are also encouraged to help up to provide a program that will enrich the boys' scouting, academic, social, and community lives.
