National Program Portfolio

The National Program Portfolio has two main parts – the National Leadership Journeys and the all new The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting. Complemented by the Girl Scout Cookie program, Girl Scout travel and Girl Scout awards, the National Program Portfolio is designed to help girls develop as leaders and build confidence by learning new skills. It also ensures that Girl Scouts at every level are sharing a powerful, national experience—girls together changing the world!

There are three different Leadership Journeys seriesIt's Your Story – Tell It!It's Your Planet – Love It! and It's Your World – Change It! Each series has separate books and awards for each grade level and a corresponding adult guide.

The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting is where girls (and adults) can find exciting new badges, the 100th Anniversary handbook, information on bridging and Bronze/Silver/Gold Awards, Girl Scout history, tradition and much more!

Check out the Journey Maps and resources for everything you need to know to plan your Girl Scout year and tips on using the Journeys and The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting together!

Special Programs

Special Programs are offered from time to time by either the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), the Girl Scouts of the USA, the Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA (GSHPA), or other local councils in the nation.  Below are some of the additional programs your daughter and troop can participate in.

Free Being Me Program

The Free Being Me Program is a partnership between the Dove Self-Esteem Project and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).  The vision is to imagine a world where no one worried about the way they looked.  They want everyone to feel free to be themselves.  They want to empower girls to reach their full potential by strengthening their body confidence and self-esteem.

This is a one-of-a-kind program! Through fun and interactive activities, children and young people learn that body confidence and self-esteem come from valuing their bodies, standing up to social pressures, and supporting others to be more body confident. By working together, leading others and speaking out, participants will be empowered to make a difference in their local and global communities.

Visit Free Being Me website to download the FREE materials, which includes a Leader's Guide and two different levels of activities for girls ages 7-10 or 11-14.  There is also an online learning course if you are interested in more information about the program.

The patch for the Free Being Me Program is available through the WAGGGS online store.
