We are collecting items for emergency hygiene kits for UMCOR (United Methodis Committee on Relief). This organization sends emergency hygiene kits to areas in need of assistance, like Columbia, SC during their flood. For these kits, we need:
- hand towels (15" x 25" to 17" x 27") - NOT kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels
- washclothes
- combs (longer than 6", and no picks)
- nail clippers with files
- bath-size soap (3+ oz.) - NOT Ivory or Jergens
- toothbrushes, adult size
- adhesive bandages - 3/4" - 1" size
- gallon zipper bags
We are given specific instructions for packaging these items. Please keep all items in their original packaging.
They also ask that we include $2 for each kit we submit - $1 for toothpaste and $1 for shipping. We will decide as a troop how much to contribute when we assemble bags.
