Volunteer Leadership Opportunities in a Cub Scout

Notes
  • All leadership positions are parent volunteers.  The parents are what makes the Pack go!
  • A Pack of 20 to 45 Scouts will typically have five or more dens: Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos 1, and Webelos 2. Each den is a group of boys in the same school grade.  Generally the best results are seen when each den size is 5-9 boys.  Tigers (1st), Wolf (2nd), Bear (3rd), Webelos (4th & 5th)
  • Larger Packs may have more than one den at a given level to maintain the 5-9 den size.
  • Smaller Packs of 9 to 19 Scouts will typically have three dens: Tiger, Wolf/Bear, and Webelos 1/2.
  • Den Chief is a position filled by a Boy Scout.  He will actively help the Den Leader during meetings and activities.
