New Cub & Leader Orientation Overnighter
Session 3 Oct. 14 & 15,--Session 4 Oct. 15 & 16
All New Cubs, Parents And Leaders are invited to attend a fun filled overnight camping
experience.
You will be camping right here in town at the base of South Mountain. You will be on
the grounds of one of our Councils finest campgrounds the HEARD SCOUT PUEBLO. (Click
for map) It has been part of the Scouting program since the late 1920s when it was donated to
the Boy Scouts by the Heard family.
Each of the Four (4) sessions begin with check in starting at 5:30 P. M. and we will be
completed by 12:30 P.M. the following day
After setting up your campsite your schedule for the evening will begin with a fun filled
Campfire filled with songs and skits and good cheer, Indian lore and hair raising stories.
You will bed down in your own tent to the sounds of nature serenading you and your Cub
Scout to thru out the night.
After Revile and a Flag raising. You will enjoy a Continental breakfast. Yes we will have
coffee and Coco.
Cubs, Parents and Leaders will begin the following hands on events through out the
morning.
The B.B. Range where instructors will teach Cubs to safely handle the B.B Guns and allow
them to practice becoming big game hunters.
The Archery Range again they will learn the safety of Bows and Arrows and play a little at
being an Indian.
The Handcraft area each participant will make his or her own craft to take home.
The Nature area where the instructors will show them some of the interesting parts of our
Arizona native environment.
And last but not the least the area where ear plugs are recommended the nosiest area of all the
GAME AREA
