Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 251! Since the official founding of Boy Scouting in America on February 8, 1910, boys have wanted to be Boy Scouts. Deep within the soul of every boy there is a desire to be somebody. Scouting with Troop 251 can help a boy realize that dream.
Troop 251 is a registered scout troop operating under the Heart of America Council, Thunderbird District. In November 1948, Boy Scout Troop 251, Lake Lotawana, Missouri, was born. The troop was and still is being sponsored by the Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church.
Twelve young men registered on the charter then. Today, we have 50 registered scouts on our charter. Richard Draheim and Sonny Shepard were the first two Eagle Scouts in the troop. We have over 100 Eagle Scouts in our "Eagle's Nest" and soaring.
There are many events and individuals that have been associated with the troop. It would fill a book...THE TRADITION CONTINUES.
