Welcome to the Home Page for Troop 247 of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). We are part of the Dulaney District in the Baltimore Area Council, of the BSA.
We are proud to be chartered by the Baltimore County Game and Fish Protective Association and meet at their facility on 3400 Northwind Road in the Carney/Perry Hall area of Baltimore County.
Currently, we are 53 scouts strong, spread among 5 patrols. Our ongoing goal is to run a troop that operates in the way designed by the National BSA Council. We are "Boy Led / Adult Guided". The Scouts are in charge, the Scouts make the decisions, and Scouts choose our camping destinations. It is the goal of the involved adult leaders to make sure that we provide an experience that allows boys to truly understand what it is like to be a "boy scout". Our explosive growth over the last 2 years, strong weekly attendance, fantastic facilities, and the attraction we have for boys who come from all over the Baltimore Area tell us our "old school" approach is exactly what boys are searching for.
If this sounds like something you (or your son) would be interested in for yourselves, PLEASE feel free to stop by and visit us any Tuesday night at 7 PM.
We especially welcome 2nd years Webelos Scouts and parents, who should be giving serious consideration to finding a Boy Scout troop that is right for them, or current Boy Scouts who are "bored" in their current troops and may be considering quitting or changing troops.
