Welcome To Pack 700!

Welcome to Pack 700. We are a Cub Scout Pack chartered to Dorchester Presbyterian Church in Summerville, SC.

Our goal is to provide an active outdoor family-centered experience that focuses on empowering our youth to become the best they can be through getting back to the fundamentals of outdoorsmanship and conservation. We provide leadership, camping, hiking, fishing, and community service opportunities to help parents instill in their children responsibility and confidence to be leaders in their homes and communities. Our unit has some of the most active service oriented scouts in the area!

Pack 700 is a CoEd unit accepting both boys and girls as the unit is able.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email us at swampfoxpack700@gmail.com. Thank you.

Yours In Scouting,

How to join the pack / Upcoming Recruitment night

Costs
Pack 700 has several fees involved in order to join Boy Scouts of America.

-National Membership for one year for new youth members is $117 paid to our national organization (The unit does
not get any of this money) .  Returning youth members pay $92.

-Adult membership in BSA is $60 a year

-Unit dues: $50 for the year broken down into two payments (Fall and Spring).  Scouts and their families can participate
in selling popcorn every fall to offset this cost and other activity based fees.

-Camping (unit or council): camping depending on whether the unit sponsors or is sponsored by our council that operates scouting in our area often comes with costs.  Council weekend activities can cost from $35 to $50 a person (3 day/2 night), day camps in summer can cost ~$135 (1 week long day camp), and cub resident camps cost ~$175 per person (4 days/3 nights).

Summer meetings
Pack 700 does not meet regularly over the summer to be able to welcome interested families wishing to join cub scouts.  Please reach out through email on joining and to ask any questions you have about the program. Our new member coordinator or cubmaster will be in touch on how to proceed.

RECRUITMENT NIGHT(s) / joining a pack
Please check back soon for our Fall 2023 recruitment night at the shelter at Dorchester Presbyterian Church .  The pack will be sending flyers home to students at Oakbrook and Joseph Pye elementary schools as well as the surrounding communities of Dorchester Presbyterian Church.  Any youth is welcome from any part of the Lowcountry and being a student at one of these schools does not limit you to only joining Pack 700.

During recruitment night your son(s) will participate in scout activities with current members of our pack while leaders will go over all of the basics of this fun family focused program with you.

Please visit our beascout.org information page to submit a general request for more information in joining our pack.

For families with daughters interested in joining cub scouts, please discuss with our leaders to see if our pack is able to accommodate them, or if we can find a pack with the adult resources to have them.
