Welcome to the Pack 19 Hiking Club
This year we have started a hiking club to encourage the exploration of nature and learn and practice the principals of LEAVE NO TRACE.
Some of the things we plan on doing are Letterboxing and Geocaching. See the links listed below for more information. Both of these are like treasure hunting in the woods. They are a lot of fun and teach skills such as compass reading, using a GPS, paying attention and being aware, amongst many other skills. We will also be working on earning our Hiking belt loop and pin.
The cost to sign up is $5.00 per family and is a one time fee. Your family will get a log book, a pencil and a pouch to store it all in. The money goes towards the purchase of these supplies plus the supplies needed to create our own Letterboxes and Geocaches. You will also get a bead for every mile completed and when your family gets to 10 miles, you will get a Hiking patch seen here:

When you have completed placing and finding a geocache, you will get a Geocaching patch seen here:

When you get to 25 miles you will get the patch seen here:

When you get to 50 miles, you will get a special walking stick with rank emblem seen here:

Please note, families will only receive one 10 mile patch, one geocaching patch and one hiking stick with one emblem. If you would like additional quantities, we can order them for you.
