2014-2015 Leadership

The leader roster is the listing of the adult individuals that are committed to help the Pack go and grow.  In Cub Scouts the leaders of the Pack are called 'Akela'.  We invest a little time and make a BIG impact on the lives and futures of our Cub Scouts, and WE LOVE IT!

Please feel free to contact any of the Leaders in list below if you have any questions about our Pack, or want more information on how you can get involved.  The Pack can always use a hand, and we have a lot of fun helping the Scouts have fun!

    Leadership Training

    UNTRAINED LEADERSHIP IS UNACCEPTABLE

According to the BSA Den & Pack Meeting Resource Guide (pg. 10):

"Core to succeeding with these responsibilities is the concept that every Cub Scout deserves a trained
leader. Being a trained leader helps you deliver the program in a way that is effective and efficient
with a focus on the core objectives for the boy.

Becoming a trained leader requires completion of the following training:
    • Youth Protection
    • Fast Start
    • This Is Scouting
    • Leader Position-Specific
Consult with your pack trainer or visit www.myscouting.org for training options."

While this is the minimum required by the BSA to be considered trained, Pack 371 would like all of those in leadership positions to pursue certification in the following areas as well:

    • Basic Adult Leadership Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) Training
    • CPR/AED/Basic First Aid (First Aid Web)
    • Face-to-Face Youth Protection Training (in addition to the online version)
    • Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
    • Outdoor Webelos Leader Training (OWL)
    • Physical Wellness
    • Safe Swim Defense
    • Safety Afloat
    • Weather Hazards

    Who needs to be trained?

All leaders and every Committee Member is required to be trained.  Once the application is turned in, the training should be completed in 30-days or less.
