GS USA - Girl Scouts of the USA

It all started right here in the US! Founder
Juliette Gordon Low organized the first Girl Scout Troop on March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia. Girl Scouts of the USA was chartered by the U.S. Congress on March 16, 1950. Today, over 100 years later, there are 3.2 million Girl Scouts—2.3 million girl members and 890,000 adult members working primarily as volunteers. There are over 100 local Councils that are part of GS USA.

COUNCIL...

COUNCIL - Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) serves more than 25,000 girls ages 5-17. Membership also includes over 11,000 adult volunteers who serve as leaders, trainers, consultants, and board members. GSACPC covers approximately 66% of the state of AZ, serving girls in more than 90 communities.

NEIGHBORHOOD - Paradise Hills Neighborhood
Local areas within the Arizona Cactus-Pine Council are called Neighborhoods or Service Units. With active support from Council, the Paradise Hills Neighborhood connects Northeast Valley leaders, girls, and volunteers in the Cave Creek/Scottsdale/Phoenix areas and Scottsdale and Paradise Valley School Districts together for events and troop support.

TROOP...

YOU - Troop Member or IGM, Individual Girl Member
Two registered adults and at least five member girls make up a Girl Scout troop. Troops attend meetings and outings, do community service projects, go to camp, and attend events at the troop, Neighborhood, Council levels--and beyond! Our troop chose the White Rose Troop Crest as our troop symbol.

Individual members, girls and adults, can also participate in Girl Scout activities without becoming part of a troop or group. Girl members are known as IGMs--Individual Girl Members.

White Rose – Symbol of new beginnings.  Also a symbol of loyalty & Challenge.
The white rose was the crest of the first troop in Savannah, GA.
