Faith Encouraging Activities

Encouraging our scouts in faithful endeavors is important to us. In addition to including a Sunday morning youth-oriented devotional at all our campouts, we also offer instruction in the Protestant God and Me, God and Family, and God and Country curriculums every fall/winter. These programs are taught by our Chaplain, Pastor Mike Younkman. Participation is optional and is completely at the discretion of each scout's family. Mike opens this class not only to our scouts but also to other Lebanon Cub Scout packs,  American Heritage girls and Girl Scouts who wish to participate.

Community Relief

Our scouts have an opportunity to earn a special pack award called "The Helping Hand." Each scout who participates in at least three pack level service projects during the cub scout year receive the award. We are happy to say that 95% of our scouts earned the award in 2014. Some of our pack level projects include:

  • Honoring our country and our military - Troop Care Packages, Veterans Day Flag Retirement Ceremony, Memorial Day parade in Lebanon

  • Conservation Projects - Maintain the garden at Countryside/ Lebanon Christian, Help maintain Otterbein walking trail, Work with Countryside Church in their "Love Lebanon" renovation projects.

  • Service to Others - Help serve food to needy every month, Scouting for Food drive, Christmas Angel tree
