Merit Badge Procedures

A reminder on procedures for working on merit badges:

  • A Scout who wants to work on merit badge must consult with a Scoutmaster and receive the Scoutmaster's approval.  Additionally, the Scout must ask the Scoutmaster to provide him with a signed "blue card", which enables him to work on the merit badge.
  • The Scout should contact the merit badge counselor to initiate work on the badge.
  • Upon completion of the requirements for the merit badge, the counselor will sign the blue card and return it to the Scout.
  • The Scout must return the blue card to the Scoutmaster.  The Scoutmaster will provide the completed blue card to the Advancement lead, who will register completion of the badge with the council and purchase the badge for presentation at the next Court of Honor

Please contact Beth Hall to verify status of completed merit badges.
