Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.
Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.
Join Us in Cub Scouting!
Cub Scout Pack 707 in Wilmore, Kentucky, will begin meeting again after school starts. Our first pack meeting will be August 24th 2009. We will be meeting at Wilmore Free Methodist Church from 7:00pm - 8:00pm. Boys do not have to attend Wilmore Elementary School to be a part of Pack 707. If you'd would like to attend a pack meeting to learn more about us, or if you'd like an application to join us, please contact our Cub Master Pacer Metzenberg (859-492-6256, crmpacer@aol.com).
Dues
Dues are collected when Scouts join our pack. The fee is $41 ($43 for 1st graders) , which consists of the National Membership dues, insurance and registration fees. Also included in the fee is Pack 707 Activity dues. These dues help pay for supplies for our den meetings and campouts. You may also subscribe to the magazine Boys' Life for an additional cost of $17.00. Other costs will consist of a uniform, a handbook, and any costs for camping trips that are not covered by the pack. If these fees are a financial burden for your family and this is all that stands in the way of your son joining Cub Scouts, please contact the Cub Master in confidence regarding your situation (use the tab at the top of this page).
