Troop 53 - El Paso, Texas

Hello and Welcome to Troop 53's brand new website!

If you are reading this I want to thank you for checking out our new website and for thinking of or joining our Scout Troop. Troop 53 is one of a few great Scout Troop's located in North East El Paso, we meet at 5050 Yvette Street Skyline Park Main office every Monday from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.Our Monday meetings entail classes on scout skills such as first aid,Knots, Lashings, pioneering, map and compass reading, cooking, and much more.

After your scout learns about scout skills they then play a game that has to do with the class for example for a first aid class they would do a stretcher relay where they build a stretcher and race to the finish line.  At the end of the meetings theSenior Patrol Leader (SPL) passes out any information the scouts need to know such as any events coming up. We encourage your son to come to our meeting so they can see how Scouting has a positive influence in several Scouts lives.

Why Join Boy Scouts?

Boy Scouts has a lot to offer, but don't let the 130+ merit badges scare you away. With the exposure to a uniquely hands-on learning experience through earning merit badges that reflect each boy's budding interests, they unlock a world of discovery around them, and forge their path for the future. By culminating the Boy Scouting experience by earning the rank of Eagle and accomplishing a service project imagined and executed by the Scout himself, he can prove his leadership skills and gain the confidence he needs to excel in life and in the world at large.

That being said there is nothing but positive outcomes for your son or grandson ages 11-18 and the best part is even you, as a parent, are able to participate and learn. Your son will also have the ability to learn leadership skills such as time management, effective communication,Respect, Reverence, and how to survive in the wilderness. Scouting also instill values such as being Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, brave clean and reverent otherwise know as the Scout Law.
