Cub Scout Meeting Tuesday November 18 6:00pm

Scout Families,

We will have a Cub Scout meeting this Tuesday, November 18th at 6:00pm at the church.  We will be covering Achievement 9 Be Safe at Home and On the Street.  As part of this, we will be learning bike safety, and I will bring in Zachary's bike for some safety demonstations.  We will also take a Bike Safety Quiz.  Following that, games.

Regards,
Paul

Den Meeting 10/12 at the church

Scout families,

We will be having a den meeting this Tuesday at 6pm at the church.  We will be following the same Den 1/Den 2 format as last week, and also from here on going forward.

We will be working on Bobcat Badge requirements, as last week.  Any scout who has not yet earned the Bobcat badge, but has mastered the requirements, will receive their Bobcat Badge at the 10/21 Pack Meeting.

We will also be working on Achievement 8, Cooking and Eating.  There is much of this achievement that needs to be done at home, so I will have a take-home handout to be worked on during the following week.

If there is time, we will then begin Achievement 2, Your Flag.

Regards,
Paul Hoffmann

Den Meeting Tuesday, 10/7/14, 6:00pm

Scout families,

We will be having a den meeting at 6:00pm on Tuesday.  Due to the large number of Wolves that we have, we will be forming a second Wolf den (Den 2), to be led by Matt Snell.  Den 1, of which I am the leader, will continue to meet in the large room directly across from Fellowship Hall.  Den 2 will meet in the room in the hallway adjacent to the Den 1 room.  If you can't find the room or don't see Matt, just ask, and I'll point you to the room.

This week we will be working on Bobcat Badge requirements.  Any scout (who has not yet earned the Bobcat Badge) who is able to demonstrate these within the next two weeks will receive their Bobcat Badge at the Pack meeting on October 21.  These are all in the Wolf Cub Handbook.  Following this, we will be doing Achievement 1, "Feats of Skill".  These are physical activities, and weather permitting, the respective dens will move outside and will operate independently to allow greater participation by each scout.  So bring appropriate coat, etc. for being outdoors.  If the weather is bad, we will stay indoors.

Regards,
Paul
Scout Families,

I have arranged a Show and Sell at Kinney Drugs in Brewerton for October 4th, 7 am - 11 am (Remember this is the day of Cubtoberfest.)  For those who are new, this is where we have a display, and sell popcorn directly to customers.  This is unique in that there is a Dunkin Donuts adjacent to the Kinney Drugs.  We can't formally set up our display at Dunkin Donuts, but we can set up the display at Kinney, and then sell product to customers at Dunkin at store and drive thru.

Let me know if your scout is interested in working a 2 hour shift.  I envision 3 scouts per shift, with two parents to handle money transactions at Kinney/Dunkin.  (I have to be on first shift with my 2 boys.  One parent on second shift would have to close up shop and return money and product to me at home.)

Will do same thing on October 25th if sales are good.
Scout families,

As mentioned last night, next week's meeting will consist of what we call a "Go See It" to Price Chopper, 5701 E Circle Dr, Cicero.  I will not be there, but Matt Snell will be the official Den contact with the store.  Arrive at 6 pm and go to the customer service desk.  Julie is our contact.  Scouts will get a tour of the store, seeing areas not normally seen by the public, such as the back room, freezers, coolers, produce, dairy, delivery trucks, etc.  Julie told me that depending upon allergies, they sometimes offer samples.  If parents can confirm any allergies with Julie, she may give the out.

Scouts should be in uniform if they have one by next week.

I will be away this weekend, but will try to send a reminder at least by Monday
Any questions, feel free to ask.
