Newest Eagle Scout

Congratulations to Troop 109's Newest Eagle Scout.

Jonathan F. Jake Tumblin

Several former Leaders of Pack 11 and Leaders of Troop 20 have worked with Jonathan on his trail to eagle. We are proud to have attended his Eagle Court of Honor on 09/13/2014 and shared the special moment with him and his family.

The following Scouts and Leaders of Troop 20 attended: Scouts Sam & Nathan Hurley, ASM Richie Lewis & Mike Hurley. Committee Members Bob Lewis, Bob McLaughlin,Mike Piazza, and Committee Chairman Dick Muollo

And our Unit Commissioner, Tim Robinson.

Malden's Newest Eagle Scout…

Shown above is Mayor Gary Christenson presenting Richard Lewis with a citation from the City of Malden. On March 24, 2012, the Malden resident and a member of Troop 20 Everett was recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor for his leadership, ingenuity, and perseverance in attaining the highest rank in scouting. Just 2% of all scouts ever earn the rank; however, Lewis is now the 15th member of the Everett troop to earn his Eagle.

Malden Mayor Gary Christenson attended the ceremony, thanking Richard for his dedication and commitment to scouting and his communities.

“The Cities of Everett and Malden are both lucky to have Richard as a member of their communities, and we are so very proud of this momentous accomplishment,” Christenson said.

Some of the volunteering includes the Dexter House, Bread of Life and the Malden Public Library, which are all situated in Malden.

Today, Lewis continues to work with Troop 20 as an Assistant Scoutmaster, and hopes to attend both Wood Badge training and a National Jamboree as an adult leader in the years to come.
