Troop 20 goes Spring Camping

The Scouts of Troop 20 are heading to Camp Nihan on April 17 - 19 for a weekend of camping and hiking. So start shaking the snow off your gear, get out your hiking boots, start packing your pack and don`t forget your handbook.

The Leaders are planning a great weekend, I wonder what`s on the menu, hope it`s spam, can smell it sizzling in the frying pan right now. Oh! Spam and eggs, spam and peanut butter, spam and tuna, can`t wait.

Your Scoutmaster will be sending more info to you via face book.

Gathering of the Clans

Following the ancient custom of Native American Tribes to gather yearly for a celebration, our Scouts and Leaders responded to the sound of the drums calling them to gather.
They came from Troops 109 Chelsea, 15 Revere and 20 Everett to celebrate Scout Sunday together.

On February 1st the Troops attended the 9:00 a.m. service at the Immaculate Conception Church in Everett. The Scouts assembled in the lower church and then filed into the  upper church, with  the procession being lead by a color guard of both American Flags and Troop flags from each of  the Scout Troops. The presiding priest gave an inspiring talk to the Scouts and also spoke about his own experience in Uganda when Scouting Leaders in his country spoke up against the genocide there.

After the service, the Scouts, Leaders, and parishioners were served breakfast  prepared by Mike Piazza, a Committee Member of Troop 20, Everett.
This event gave the Leaders of the three Troops an opportunity to meet, some for the first time, and to discuss future plans.
One of the plans for next year is to invite the two Cub Scout Packs to join with the Troops on Scout Sunday.
The Scouts of Troop 20 who attended Scout Sunday will be presented a patch and a certificate at a Troop Meeting.
Signed, The Old Scout
